I went to a dealer that carries orange and green to compare them side by side and pick some more brains about tractors. They have a new store, about 10x more space than before -- the place used to be a lumber store -- and have several tractors inside to look over. Among the toys was a nice shiny green 3520 cab model.

If you haven't yet seen one up close and personal, it's worth the trip to the dealer. The controls are all placed differently than the platform models, the cab is entirely weather tight, top and bottom, heated, A/C, radio, etc. All glass, inside convex mirrors, carlike seating and control placement, fabric (?) seat cover, armrests, the entire eHydro and all the trimmings, etc. etc. etc. A guy could spend the entire day in there if it had a built in portapotty, which might be on the option list!

All this for a sticker price of $28000 more or less. It's way out of my price range, and wouldn't work at all in my application, but wow was it nice! If you haven't seen one, take a trip to the dealer and have your eyes opened.

I just priced a 3720 with a cab for $24,500.

I did not see a radio or speakers. Where did you see them in the cab?

Thanks,
D.

I'm pretty sure that's what I saw up on the ceiling -- I didn't ask and wasn't in there too long, so I could easily be wrong on that. I was just pretty starstruck by the whole thing. Your price sounds pretty good compared to what they had on the tag on this one. The R4 tires were a little odd looking with rounded lugs instead of angles. Did you notice anything like that on the one you saw?

I have the 3720 Factory Cab Tractor... The radio is located up on your left side (opposite of the Heat/Ac Controls on the Right). The speakers can't be seen, they are hidden underneath the upholstry in the ceiling in the corners... The radio option is very nice... I just got the standard AM/FM/Weatherband radio, no Cd or Cassette... because I don't need the extras at all because I use my Apple iPod instead. I just plug my iPod into the cigarette lighter and transmit the music to the Radio in the Cab... I really like it a lot.... $24,500? what options were included not included with that price quote? Because that is very cheap.... I paid more... but got most of the available options I could get for the tractor.... (Air Ride Seat, Electric Diverter, Filled Larger R4's, Horn, Radio, Mid PTO, Vertical Exhaust, Rear Floods, Rear Wiper) What did they offer you for the whole bundle? Tractor Options, Loader Options, Tires, Attachments Etc?

3720 cab no radio, no real options on it to be honest - usual stuff.

3720 cab
300x loader
lx6
5' box blade
6' finishing mower
quick hitch

$31,750

Seems pretty fair to me.

Comments?

Tell me, how is that air ride seat? I'm finding that my tractor seems to be tougher than I am. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif When I hit some ruts and the ole spring loaded seat bottoms out, sometimes my vision blurs I hit so hard! That's not to mention that the darn seat belt ratchets so tight when that happens that I think I'm going to need to use the jaws of life to get me out of the seat!

The air ride seat is VERY comfortable! I have been blowing snow here in Vt. in my 3520CAB with my jacket draped over the seat! The list on my tractor with 59"blower, 300cx bucket and all the fixings(imatch, ihitch, etc, was $38,926. The dealer allowed me $13,300 for my old 955(800hrs.) gave me a $3,626 discount, and traded for $22,000.

I am very happy with the new tractor! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The 3720 cab model I ordered is now in the dealer's shop waiting for the loader to come. This was the first one the dealer here had seen. It caused so much interest, he immediately ordered another one for the lot.

I like the looks of it a lot. The cab is very comfortable. A feature I didn't know it had before I saw it is that the rear window will open out so you can twist around, lean out, and see straight down if you need to.

Hi all -

I own one of those orange tractors and usually hang out in the K****a forum, but I wanted to do my part to improve "Inter-brand Relations" by saying that it sure sounds like JD did one heck of a job with the new Twenty series. Especially for someone in the market for a cab tractor, I can't see a very good reason for not having it be a green one. I haven't seen one "in real life" yet, but I'm looking forward to it; they sound AWESOME. Hats off to JD for making such an excellent machine, and for giving people such a good reason to buy American. Lord knows we need more of that!

I came within a whisker of getting a JD 5320 for my tree business; the 5000's are awesome too. Anyway, you guys must be psyched about the Twenty's, and I'm genuinely happy for you.

Take care, John D.

How many of you have been able to make a comparison on
interior room between the orange and green cab tractors?
I have a 3320 on demo with a customer that has an L3400, and his statement the other day was he felt the deere cab
was a little smaller in interior room.. although he liked everything else about it.
Anybody else feel the same way?
