3520 Cab Water Leak

Found a water leak in my 3520 cab - rear glass just above the wiper motor. The glass curves in that area and the radius does not allow the glass to contact the gasket around the glass opening.

Any one have a similar concern and how did you resolve it?

Noticed the same exact thing except the opposite side. It ONLY leaked when I washed it with the hose this past time, And to be honest with you, its the first time it leaked...prolly cause I "really had to wash it"....she was wicked dirty. The leakage was minimal, just a few drops, and after surveying the situation it appears "it is what it is". Its never leaked during normal operation in winter or summer so I'm not worried. In my case the gasket contacts all the way around, but it appears to contacts less in those areas so concentrated streams of pressurized water can go by.

Theres no adjustment to the rear glass, so my "repair" is to spray that area less when washing and/or be prepared with a clean rag to wash the drips off the interior.

Take it aprat and put some slicon in there if you do not want it to leak. I hit mine very hard with water all the time and the only thing that will leak on mine is the door seals when hit with a pressure washer. Never had a leak around the rear wiper....

Yeah, I'm SURE That would fix the leak...BUT.... :laughing:

The rear glass on my 4520 doesn't quite connect with the gasket at the top. So when I hose it down, I get a small pool of water trapped on the outside, and about 2 little streams of water that run down the inside.

Just figured this out yesterday. I'll probably see if I can remove the gasket/seal at the top and put in a small run of foam strip about 1/8 x 1/4 to push out the gasket some and see if that works.

The other thing I want to do is extend the AC drain lines down about 2.5 feet. They drip all over the 3 point hitch and that makes the grass and dust stick there. I need to find a tube that has an ID that is the same as the exiting line's OD. Don't want to use a coupler that could clog up when I flush out the evaporator coil with a hose. It sure gets a lot of dust in there. Also wondering if they still make a Water Pick (if anyone remembers that device). Seems like that would be the perfect cleaning tool.

Nah.... I think he meant to pull the gasket (carefully) put down a bead of silicone in the area that the gasket does not make good contact with the glass and reinstall the rubber gasket.

At least, that's what I would try! :thumbsup:

Yeah, I knew what he was saying, just couldnt resist giving him a hard time about it:laughing:

I like eepete's idea of finding a small foam strip to insert into the "channel" of the gasket to build it out a little...But seriously, now I know not to concentrate high pressure water there, it feels like "all risk, no reward"...I've already replaced the rear glass once because of my own stupidity...

The rear wiper is the only thing I haven't installed on my tractor, and it is still in the cardboard box. Guess I need to pay exra special attention to it when I get around to it.

Isn't like it is raining here enough to worry about it though.
