I posted this info as part of another reply, but thought it was important enough to expand upon and post directly. (Important enough to end my days as a lurker and finally register so I could share this info)

CAUTION: 3510HST ("Hydrostatic 3510") is *NOT* a 3510 with hydro drive. It is more of a 2810 with a larger engine. about 2 feet shorter, around 800 or so pounds lighter, uses smaller loader, about 900lbs less lift capacity, but adds mid-mount mower up to 72".

I almost made the 3510HST mistake, figuring $1k was good price to up to hydro, but luckily found out about the big downgrade in tractor.

BTW, "mistake" would only apply to my personal needs, as the smaller tractor would not be right for our uses.

This term is used to refer more to the model number confusion than any assertion as to the quality or suitability of the 3510HST. If this suits your needs, by all means check it out.

Just don't get confused by the model numbers, they are NOT the same tractor, or even close!

Hope this helps others avoid any confusion.

This site is a great resource. I've been reading for about a month now. Thanks!

Has anyone else seen, anything on this. I haven't looked at Mahindra's for a while, but this sounds strange. Not saying, that it isn't right, because I have looked at stranger things. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

There was something posted on this a short while ago, the 2810HST was being changed to a 3510HST. Maybe they thought the 2810 was lacking for power, I'm not sure. I'd be interested to see the specs for the new tractor. I've got the 2810HST & a little more power would be good but, I'd really like a little more FEL capacity.

If you look at the TYM line up you'll see that they sell the same tractor as a 33hp unit, not a 28 hp one.

Just to be sure...

The comparison I mention is between the 3510HST and the 3510. The 3510HSt is about 2 feet shorter than the 3510, etc.

I didn't mean to imply the 3510HST was smaller than the 2810.

Here is Mahindra's comparison spec sheet, just recently updated (last week, I think) with the 3510HST. Somewhere around 5/24/04 is when they "announced" the availability of the 3510HSt on their website.

The 3510/4110 share the same basic larger chassis. The 2810HST/3510HST share the same basic smaller chassis. Keep in mind though that the 3510HST is still a good size compact machine when stacked up against other 35HP models. The 3510HST weighs over 3000lbs without the loader, so it's no lightweight.

What I noticed is that the 2810HST and the 3510HST where the same weight.

So it sounds to me like this post is right on ....
