Oil & Fuel 3510 New Parts

Hi All; I just had to purchase my first new parts, except for filters, for my 3510. The power steering reservoir cracked and the oil leaked out, and the boot for my fel joystick rotted out. Boy was I in for a price shock! The reservoir was $92.00 for a plastic container. The strainer was not even included for that price. That was $42.00 more! Ok, first parts in 10 years. After going through my operators/service manual, there is no mention of the power steering at all. How do I remove the strainer from the old reservoir? What kind of oil does it take? It looks as if the oil in there was an sae20w motor oil but that does not seem right to me. Looking through the parts books, there is no mention of the power steering or of the braking system. Is there another parts book that I did not get? Thanks for any help!:confused2:

Hi,
My manual says that the transmission, hydraulics, front axle, rear axle and power steering are the same type of fluid. It doesn't say exactly what it is, so I used a good quality tractor hydraulic fluid that was recommended by a local farmer. This is for a 4520 that I bought new in 2003.

I got my new reservoir today. I was quite surprised that it is now made out of heavy steel, not plastic like the old one. All the parts from the old reservoir fit on the new one. That sure is a thumbs up from me that Kujuke saw a problem with a part and did an update. The new part fit perfect. I am up and running again!
