a friend has a 4wd, fel, woods rear blade, model 3400, with 40 hours on it for sale: he is asking $14,000. it has a manual transmission instead of the hydrostatic: also a 72inch rear finish mower, i'm not sure of the brand on that but can find out if anyone is interested: he is asking $900 for the finish mower.

the local dealer offered these folks $12500 for their tractor: which sounds pretty low, anyone know what one sells for new? i "thought" $14000 was a pretty good deal, but it may not be?

I always like to compare prices on sites like Tractorhouse.com to get a good idea of what something is worth.

I considered trading my 2007 L2800 HST with loader for a Grand L series. My tractor has less than 20 hours on it and looks like new. The dealer couldn't offer me much at all due to the 0 percent finincing on new models. I understood, sratched my head, mumbled, said thanks, and decided to keep it. Your friend is faced with the same reality. One could finance a new 3400 gear tractor with loader at around $16,000 (maybe less) at 0 percent and have payments lower than someone buying it used for around $13,500 - $14,000 and financing it at local bank rates. These tractors take a heavy hit in value retention in the first year, worse with the competition of attractive new tractor financing

Crash101 is right on. I bought a L3400 with FEL yesterday for 15400 with the 0%-42 financing. Made no sense to buy the same tractor at $14K and pay finance charges that takes you up to the price of new. Dealer told me that Kubota 0% financing is killing his used tractor sales.

So I am not the only one looking to buy that likes the 0% offer. I have been arguing with a friend who thinks I should get something older and cheaper. I don't want something that I have to work on every time I go to use it. Plus still be making payments on it. He keeps telling me that the L3400 or B3030 will not be enough tractor and he thinks I should be a full size used backhoe then try and sell it when I am finished with it.
