OK....so I went to see my local JD dealer and got a price on a new open station 3320 (300cx loader and accessories)....which turned out to be out of the question due to his price ($24,900).

I started a search for a used one....and located a like new 3320 with PR Tranny and 300cx loader & 61" HD bucket with R1 tires :)thumbsup:) for a price of $16,900. ....and I think I can buy it for a little less if I make the offer. The tractor has 130 hours on it.

It may still be in warranty - I am waiting for a phone call to find out....its either an '08 or '09 model.

Questions:

How hard is it to add a single rear svc? cost?

Will I be happy with a power reverser vs a hydrostatic? (I've never operated a PR ) I do 40% tillage, 30% mowing, and 30% loader work.

I'm coming from these ole scratchy 790 gears....so all would be an improvement. Does this sound like a deal for me? Comments? Thanks in advance.

Price of that used 3320 sounds good. R-1 tires...is that what you want? Unless you're finish mowing, they should be OK, but I'd prefer industrials or turfs (but not enough to pass on a good deal).

I can't help you with the svc cost...sorry.

The powereverser is a joy to use...biggest advantages over the 790 are the ease of reversing...and, having reverse speeds other then "Too Fast" or "Too Slow".

Scratchy gears in a 790???? You been using the clutch?

Yeah.....well I'm just too impatient to wait to shift my gears Roy. :D I gotta believe I could add a pair of SVC's for $400 bux or so.:confused:

On the tires....this one actually has the Indus trials on it....but I told him I didn't want them and his tires were a deal breaker. He called back with an offer to change em out to R1's as his local dealer would make the swap for him. ( I know R4's cost more.) I want the traction that the R1's offer when I pull my disc around and for digging...etc. So, I don't think I want to compromise on the tires and was pretty happy with the R1 deal as this tractor wont see any lawns. :)

I have been so on the fence on the power reverser vs hydro.....I just I am just dazed and confused on this issue. :confused2:

I believe I'll sleep on it....and verify the ownership and dealer records tomorrow. Then I may offer $16,500 and see what happens. This would make a pretty solid upgrade for a reasonable amount of money.

That machine already has the valve-just no way to control it. The 3rd SCV kit includes the lever, hardware, hardlines and couplers at the rear of the machine. The kit is about $250. It is fairly easy to install if you have basic mechanical ability. JD only offers 1 rear remote...if you want more that it's a custom job.

They also have real nice kit to extend the remote lines to the loader and down the frame to operate the grapple you are going to buy:thumbsup:

I believe you are reading my mind.  Thanks for your valued information on the SVC for this tractor. I did not know I could add the JD remote lines for the loader.....kuel. :D

I don't think it would be a difficult decision for me... 130 hours with a CX loader and HD bucket!

Hasn't even had a 2nd oil change!

Try another dealer. My 3320 will be 3 years old in August. I ordered it with many options and the price was real close to 21,500.
I got hydro, larger R4's, 300 cx loader, deluxe brush guard, 61" HD bucket with toothbar, 3rd scv, diverter for 4 & 5 scv, hoses to the front of loader, 2 front lights, 1 rear light, and air ride seat. JC

Having just driven Roy's SyncReverser I can tell you flat out... if you like shifting gears and the benefits they offer, you will love the Reverser.

Just to close this thread out.....

I slept on it....and I am not sure I would be happy with the power reverser....and I'm not going to compromise. So, I'm gonna take a pass on this deal. It's probably a good deal....just not for me.

I don't think I got the right guy at the JD dealer I visited.....and I have not had the best experience with him in the past. I am going to do as you say....and find someone I can work with to get another deal / price. But I'm keeping my eye peeled for a late model used hydro.....driven by a little 'ole lady on Sunday's.

If I dont find the right JD....the white paint guys seem to want my biz.:laughing:

I had a cream white Case 1370 Agri King about twenty years ago, so there are or have been some good white tractors.:D
