325 lawn tractor won't start

I used my 325 lawn tractor today and everything was find. An hour later, it would not start. I jumped it and it started but the blades would not engage. I turned it off and it would not start. Tried it again, jumped it and it started and the blade would not engage. I just had it serviced and really do not want to pay another pick up and delivery charge. Any ideas would be greatful

Was the battery immediately dead that you had to "jump it," as you said, from booster cables?
Or did it crank normally and not fire up to start?

check the wires for your electric pto,that would be on the bottom of engine pulley.

Sounds like loose or poor connection(s) somewhere. Disconnect the battery (-) ground wire first. Then methodically check every wire connection for tightness and security. Make sure that both your battery terminal connections are clean and corrosion free. Simple things can sometimes cause big problems. Reconnect the battery (-) wire last.

Charge your battery if you have a correct and safe charger. Replace the battery if it is questionable or more than 6+ years old, but it could last longer.

Thank you for all of the help. As some of you have said, it was the battery. What through me was the blades would not engage but that was the result of the battery. Thanks again.
