we replaced the belts early last summer, but by the end of the summer they were burnt up... we need to replace them now and have been trying to find out all winter if there's a tension adjustment somewhere that could have caused the burnt belts.

noone seems to be able to, or willing to tell us...

anyone here have any ideas?

ok, i still haven't found out what i want to know... but i've a few clues... this has a vacuum assisted take off... i think we've located what does that, now, all we see is 2 screws... does this move it around to make the adjustments? if it does... how do we set it, i'm not much for trial and error... takes too long... is there a gauge method to start out with?

are we going to be critical about belts????

the BELT i'm referring to is commonly called the pto belt...

i talked with a dealer while ago and he seems to think the vacuum maybe weak ...

we may have to do a bit o work to get that back ...

there are actually 3 belts involved, 2 of which, without knowing the correct term, will refer to as pto belts and one actually on the deck...

so i suppose the belts??? might be in order... but in my mind, i was referencing them all...
