New battery last week.today would not turn over.Did the screwdriver trick on the solenoid and started(battery is strong).Have a problem from ignition switch to solenoid.I'm thinking ig. switch.It just doesn't sound right(sounds like a little pop)when i turn it.What test can i do to narrow it down.I don't think its the brake safety,and the seat one is disabled.Any suggestions?

I think if it was one of the safeties causing the problem you woudn't hear anything at all when you turned the switch, no pop. You've proved your solenoid will fire. So, you are right its most likely the switch. I'd disconnect the battery, then check all ignition switch wires and wire to the solenoid. If this doesn't work you probably need a new switch.
I have a similar problem on the 2084 I just got (prior owner told me to expect it). Turn the key and it fires and starts right off. Another time turn the key and nothing. No pattern to when it will work and when it won't. I'm guessing I need a new ignition switch but haven't had time to take a look at the wiring yet.

Review information in the posts at the web address below. The click no-start is an issue lawn mowers and tractors started having with the addition of all the safety devices being wired into the start circuit to prevent starting unless certain parameters were met. A royal PITA.
