312-8 Throttle shaft

I have a 312-8 and the throttle shaft is shot, any ideas where a person can get a replacement, I have made one of steel, but would like to replace it with a brass rod, i just did this yesterday in desperation and don't really want to run it very long this way.

Do you mean the linkage on the carburetor? If so, post your engine model number. If a kohler include the spec. number too.

No the actual butterfly shaft in the carburetor. I would get the numbers but it is late and cold and raining out and I am not going out again tonight.
