310e engine feels like a load is on it

I'd suggest to destroke hyd pump(parts key #10) to eliminate any hyd load. If engine is still loading up then it sounds as if it has a galled piston or bad rod/main brg. I guess it could also be a binding balancer shaft bushing. I'd recommend removing the engine oil pan for a visual inspection.

Does that unit have a piston pump for the steering and brakes? I have had a couple of skidders do the same thing, the compensator was not destroking the pump like tx jim said. The print he provided shows a unloader [cartridge valve] that I have had stick and that will do the same. They use it to charge a accumulator for the brakes and steering with a gear pump if they don't use a piston unit. CJ
