I have a 3040 with 70 hours on it. I received a full service at the dealer at 57 hours. Lately I have been getting a noise in the steering, particularly when it is cold at startup. I also noticed the hydraulic filter warning light stays on for a long time. It never did this before the servicing and the fluid level is spot on.

I tried hold the steering to one side for 5 seconds to evacuate air as suggested in the manual but is does not seem to make a major difference.

Ideas????

What is happening is that they probably used a heavy viscosity hyd. fluid and it does not flow well when real cold. Once it warms up all is fine. Either just let it warm up for a while and you are fine and next service use a lower viscosity hyd. fluid.

Not a problem at all. Just let it get warm.
