My friend got a clean little 3038E and he wants me to help him put 3 rear remotes on it. I need help. Who knows what to get and where it connects?
What size cylinders for top and tilt? Your experience is appreciated. Thank you

Does he actually need 3 rear remotes, or just wants 3? JD has a great 2 valve rear setup for about $1200. A 3 valve set is going to be a 3rd party setup, maybe something like what is pictured? This set would have 2 valves with the float feature intended to be used for the T&T cylinders and the 3rd valve being a std spring return to center valve typically used for most implement cylinders.

Easiest way to find the connection points is to get under the tractor and look at the loader valve. Find the 3 supply lines and your all set. Run them down for where the come from and where they go.
Pump to valve, don't touch. Power beyond to the 3pt inlet is your valve supply and power beyond back to the 3pt connection.
Return to tank is teed into the current return to tank connection.

As far as the T&T cylinders, 2" dia with 1 1/4" dia rods similar to those pictured.
A 9" stroke with a working length of 20"-29" works well for the std 3pt hitch.
A 4" stroke is what should be used for the side link to provide an equal amount of tilt angle to both sides.

What production year for the 3038e? Older models need a different kit from later models. It's a good idea to have the SN for the tractor available when shopping around.

FWIW, the JD 4th & 5th SCV kit just installed on my 2010 3038e was supposed to have float on SCV 4, but doesn't. It is on the decal but the spool doesn't have a detent.

ETA: CORRECTION
SCV 4 does, in fact, have the detent for float. The installerof the 4th & 5th SCV kit put the decal on the wrong side, over the levers instead of over the quick connects, so it was incorrectly labeled the SCV's .
