I'm surprised at the lack of information ANYwhere on this machine. Anyone on TBN got one?

Even the Mahindra site has no photos, but some spec info.

This is a popular size CUT ... with no feedback. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm not exactly sure, but I think the 2615 & 3015 have the same basic dimensions. The only major difference is the engine.? If you go to Mahindra's web site you can do a side by side comparison. Also when I got my 2615 the operators/owners manual covers the 2615 and the 3015.
Hope this helps!

My understanding is the 3015 is the same as a 2615 with a bigger motor. More of a good thing. If you use a MMM the extra HP will be used. There are spots in my lawn were I have to slow to get thru. More HP = more speed. When I am doing FEL work I have to keep the rpms up (over 2200rpm) to keep the hst from stalling the motor. Usually under these conditions I have a helper. It can be hard to talk to the helper at those rpms. I like 1800 to talk over. The 3015 should be able to work at 1800 without stalling.

You have to deside if the extra hp is worth the money to you. To me it wasn't/isn't.

The 2615 and 3015 hydro models are real close. The 3015 has about 300# greater lift capacity (slightly different loader) and has a pre-heater and glow plugs for super good starting. Other than that, it is hard to tell them apart.

Interesting is that the 2615 gear drive, actually called a 2615-4wd, has only one less PTO HP than the 3015HST. I'd still go with the HST, but it is an interesting fact. You can get a lot of usable PTO HP at a real bargain in the 2615-4wd.

I heard you mention it once before about the geared versions of the xx15. When did they come out with it? I guess it wouldn't really matter, given the choise of the 2 trannys I would still pick the hst.

Comparing the tires sizes between the 2615 and the 3015, they take the exact same tire size with industrials, however with turf tires the 3015 takes larger tires.

Turfs..........front..................rear
2615...... 25x8.5-14..........13.6x16
3015...... 27x10.5-15.......41x14-20

Any thoughts why the same size with industrials and different sizes with turfs?

Charlie,

The gear drive 15 series are quite new. I've only had them for about a month. I prefer the hydros for convenience, but these are a great value.

As for the question on why the 3015 uses larger turfs than the 2615HST, I really don't know. I do know that Mahindra likes to use big tires. I asked why once and was told "tires sell tractors". The 2810HST and the 4110 use really big R4's. It makes the tractors look like they have about 10HP more than they do.
