Sorry, another quetion. What housing are you referring to above. I did a search in the JD parts catalog for RXP7966 and didn't return a result.

TxJim is referring to the selective control valve. I have attached an image of the other side of the valve. The valves are #6 & 11, and the balls #7 also need to seat tightly in the valves. The valves usually don't need replacement. They can be reseated using lapping compound and then readjusted. Guides and pins #12 frequently need replacement since they wear out. Also all orings and seals need replacement. The RXP7966 is only an image number, not a part number.

It requires an experienced JD technician or a "very lucky" inexperienced technician to adjust those "tricky" valves correctly the first time.
