right, but having to compress and heat the air many more times gives you more moisture!. that is the problem.. also, the motor has to start more often..I don't think a bigger tank will change the amount of condensate going into the tank. The pump will compress and heat the air and when the air cools, moisture develops. The tank just stores the water until it is forced out by the valve at the bottom of the tank.
