I did a search and the thread seems to 1000 pages so I thought I would start another one.
But I just got the 3 pt quick attach (not the pat's) seems to work on a couple of my attachments, but seems the blade I got the hook doesn't fit into the slot because of the angle weld. What have some of you come up with to attach the attachments:confused:
and I am not a welder, so if you can buy something that works best for me:eek:

Well since I'm not certain which QH you are referring to, I'm gonna take a guess and think it's the one from Harbor Freight. I found the hook to be more of a pain than anything else.... I'm not sure I understand the why of it but the available 3PT adapter should be well publicized along with the QH, or even included with it.... Call HF with the model number of your unit and they have the adapter available for a paltry $8 + shipping... They are currently back-ordered. I ordered one a couple of weeks ago and expect it to make my life much easier... Hope I have been of some help.

the make is a farm pro, (personally they all the look the same to me, but what do I know)...I ordered it online, as in my area even the local TSC doesn't carry them.
so there is an actual adapter available? well that's good news...I won't even begin to tell you what I tried that doesn't work...:D

do you have a part #, I can't seem to find it on the site...or is that what you meant by not well publicized

The QH I have is from Harbor Freight and made by Haul-Master... My model # is 97214.... The number to call is 800-444-3353..
Now, the 3 pt adapters I've seen all look the same and would be quite simple to make but at $8, I figured "why bother?"
I suggest you order one and if'n it don't fit, send it back...

TSC special ordered one for me a couple weeks ago, it came last Friday, $21 with shipping and tax. Part #HF141145

biggerten, Could you measure your adapter for me and give me three measurements (labeled AAA, BBB, and CCC in the photo) My quick hitch is three hours away :(. I was very happy that my QH picked up my spray rig and shredder (both a bear to wrestle around) but not happy that the hook did not fit most of the other stuff so I'm going to make my own adaptor.

teg, the width of the U will be just wide enough to slide over the hook tower and the top link pin goes through the U then the tower, top link, tower, and out the other side of the U. The U needs to be long enough to pass over the back of the tower (without the hook installed) and wind up in the same relative position as the hook. The tail... measure the deepest top attachment point and make it 3/4'' longer minimum (wiggle room). Some of my stuff uses the hook, some the adapter. On the top flat of the hitch I write (in white out) the implement, hook or adp, position of top link(in or out). If I use the hook I note which holes the hook pins into.

Just noticed your hitch is 3 hours away, AA=3" BB=4" CC=2"
:D:D:D:D THANKS!!! Wasn't that easier :) I assume this is the Horrible Fright one (which does look like the FarmPro one...)

if your making 1 you might as well make 2....you know for buddy across the border:D
I took that part # to the local TSC, then explained what it was, then actually had to draw it for them, with the response that never seen one of those before

so you guys say HF has them...they obviously ship to Canada?

GBeck -- I have the Harbour freight one but I don't think they ship to Canada:( -- I had it shipped to a US address and picked it up since I am down that way occasionaly:eek:. It should not be very hard to make or get made up. I am pretty sure Speeco has them as well -- may be just a matter of getting the part number and having those retail geniuses at TSC order it for you
regards

My tractor lives 150 miles away, I won't be there for a couple weeks, but I'll be happy to do it then.

Whoops, I see you have the info already, should have read the rest of the posts before replying. Let me know if I can help.

As for TSC not being able to order one, huh. Maybe I only dreamed I had them order one, went there, paid for it, took it to the lake and put it on the Quick Hitch. Somebody pinch me......

I did tell them it was made by speeco, if that helps, the young fellow did have to special order it, but it only took him a minute to look it up.

Biggerten -- TSC here is different than Tractor Supply there -- although they can just about be considered equal in terms of IQ behind the counter:rolleyes:

making a trip to good ol USA this week-end, see if I can find a store close to the border...anyone from Algonac MI got directions:D

I didn't like the numbers from above so I drove the 20 miles to Agri-Supply. As I thought... those numbers are incorrect for Speedco/HF quick hitch adapter. I looked at the Speeco adapter (HF 141145) and they also had the cheapo quick hitch for $90 (looks exactly like the horrible fright one). The adapter fit with no problems but they would not sell just the adapter... it comes with the $245 (+/-, I forget exactly) Speeco QH. I was able to play with the adapter AND take measurements... we both agreed a moron like me should be able to weld it together... I have the scrap steel already.

I'm heading out tonight but I'll add all the dimensions I took and insert them into the graph above and post the sketchup file and photos of it here. I am going to try and have it welded this wk/ed... unless my wife has other plans for me...

teg, I did miss the cc measurement, it was 1&3/4" . The rest on my HF adapter measurements were correct, unless the measurements were not supposed to be from the center of the hole.

ninefinger, No problem... and actually, I like the CC measurement. :) I've had a couple (ok, several) beers and have been up since 1am... but will post a little... The numbers (below) were not far off and what you measured would work... Was this a Speedgo or a Harbor Freight adapter?

Yes, measurement were from middle of the hole - I plan to add a little extra steel out there.

As for measurements, I got for AA, 2 and 5/8 (I might make it as wide as 2 and 3/4). For BB, I got 4 and 3/4 (and I'll add a 1/4). For CC, I got 2 and 1/8. They used 1/2 steel and I'll be using a little larger (5/8, I think).

When I do the diagram with the measurements... I'll do one with what I measured and another one with what I plan to use... But that will be in the morning.

PS. The "honey do" list is light, :D New Speakers in the truck... I still have to ***** and moan about it... to make it sounds like work ;)

Now I get it - you didn't like the dimensions. I thought you didn't like the part number.

So sorry, please forgive.
