I am going to build my own box blade. I had one built by a gut about a year and a half ago, for my garden tractor that I had then, and it was more stout than any box blade that I saw around, yet lighter and in my opinoin better designed, with grease zerks and such. Anyhow, I have a 1401 , and am wondering where do you hook up the center link on the tractor, and then what are the measurements that one would use on how high to put the center link of the implement. I am figuring on 26" width on the arms, but how high up do I put the center link mount? Do, I make any sense?

Sounds like a well made unit, but when it comes to box blades, isn't heavier better? That's been my experience.

Aric, always nice to see someone building their own. The third point on both the tractor and the implement should optimally be at the same height above the lower arm pivots for the best geometry, but they rarely are right. For small tractors figure the third point to be 12" above the pivoting ends of the lower arms.....tractor and implement. If you have to do it different go to 13 rather than 11. Go for 2" between the inside of the cheeks and use a 3/4 inch pin (or bolt). Yes, your 26" width is OK, but don't go any wider. Try 24" instead. Good luck with the project.
