3-point rake question

I need a Cat-1, 3 point rake for my L series Kubota; can you guys recommend
one that will last? How about the tines, do they break easily? Never using one
before so have no experience. Will they take fist size rocks without breaking
if using low gear? Thanks for the suggests and education.

What type of rake are you looking for? Landscape, hay, lawn cleaning?

Assuming landscape rake they are very durable. I pull a 6' King Kutter and it does very well. Never broken a tine, fist sized rocks are no problem, 50 lb rocks makes it work a little.

Settings are the key, i.e. angle, forward/back tilt engagement of the tines, adding extra weight to make it dig a little, etc.

Everything Attachments. I totally abuse mine and it is holding up like new.

Being ignorant of this, I will say my plans are to rake brush and sticks with maybe 4 inches of depth into the dirt and why I mentioned fist size rocks. If going to deep they get bigger sometimes. Once cleaned up a little, we plan to plant pasture grass for our small beef herd to have more graze next year, once the grass is strong enough for their weight. This area of about 2 acres is one I logged maybe 10 years ago; our Son just finished removing all the big stumps using the excavator. We now has lots of rocks. sticks and loose brush laying around from all the digging. Steppenewolf: thanks for the link, looks to me something there should work for us.

For what you are doing almost any landscape rake will work. Since there is no down pressure on the 3 pt it will float up over obstacles unless you do like I do and add some weight sometimes. Still they are pretty tough and should not get damaged with the tractors you have listed. And yes a landscape rake is the right tool unless you get a power rake like a Harley rake.

If you find you are carrying too much dirt to your burn pile, remove every other tooth. That always works for me.

Look at the videos on Everything Attachment's website, they have a video on how to use the rake. There are many good videos on that site. And, they have the best attachments for the right reasons. Call them, they will give you the best advice.

I own both an ETA Landscape Rake and a Ratchet Rake FEL bucket attachment. For the uses you have specified, the Ratchet Rake will be more effective than a Landscape Rake. Ratchet Rakes can be purchased from the T-B-N store, delivery by common carrier.

I have used Ratchet Rakes on both my relatively light Kubota B3300SU and my heavier Kubota L3560.
