I am so happy I started this thread.
And I now know the correct answers contain the following words:
"Maybe, depends, and could be".
And "PTSG" had the best possible answer for determining the answer based on any given load......measure it.

I have a scale I built using an hydraulic cylinder and a pressure gauge. I might give it a test one of these days and see what numbers come up using it as a top link.

Could you estimate the magnitude of the top link restraining force in the second example?

Is it in grams? or ounces?

Or "Depends on the lift arm speed of motion?"

My estimate is it would be in lbs. it would depend slighty on lift arm speed but mostly on the angle of being out of perfect balance.
