Jinma 304
Hello All again,
Well I decide that last Weekend I would really work the little Jinma 304 Hard. I was moving lots of dirt that I had hauled in. Anyway, the 3 Point hitch in the rear, fitted with a 60 inch gannon just stopped working??? I could grab the lower arms and move the thing up and down with very little resistance. To move it back in the barn I had to disconnect the Gannon and take it back to the barn. I checked the hydraulic oil level and it was fine.
About an Hour later, while trying to think of what to do, I started it up and it worked absolutely fine.
I went back out and picked up the gannon, using the tractor and have not had a problem since. I once had a problem with the power steering not working to the right hand direction and this also cured itself after sitting for a few minutes. How and what should I be checking???? I did notice a leak on one of the lines that go to the loader, it was leaking pretty good and I did fix this this morning, it was simply a loose fitting. Could this be art of the problem????
Thanks for any help you can give me,
Rick

Rick, I don't know a thing about a Jinma, and I don't even know whether you have a front end loader on the tractor, but I had the same thing happen with the 3-point on a Kubota B7100 and learned that all I had to do was wiggle the front end loader joystick. Sometimes it wasn't exactly centered, but was close enough that the front end loader was moving, but the 3-point wouldn't raise until I got that joystick centered exactly.

You might be sucking air somewhere. Check every fitting in the hydraulic system, particularly those between the resovoir and the hydraulic pump. What oil are you using in your hydraulics?

Ron, I did find a leak between the FEL and the Sump, it was leaking Hydraulic fluid (NAPA AW32?) right near the oil filter for the FEL.
Would this cause air to be sucked in as well as spit oil out?
Thanks,
Rick

If it was bad enough, it would leak oil when you shut it off. When it was delivered, my 284 had a loose pipe union right where the suction line comes out of the top of the resovoir . The small puddle under it was what drew it to my attention, that and the erratic loader operation:). Things in nature, usually take the path of least resistance. It is far easier to suck in air through a leak than draw fluid through a pipe. The fluid you were using could have added to this problem or perhaps suggeted another. If it was fine when cooler then quit when warm, that might suggest something downstream of the hydraulic pump. Basically a way for the fluid to bypass the work once the fluid warmed up such as a safety valve leaking. Thick, cool fluid might resist this path easier than thin, warm fluid. Aw32 however remains pretty constant so my vote is still for an air leak on the sucton side which starved the pump. Once it set and cooled down, enough oil flowed back into the pump to re-prime and perhaps the leak is smaller when cool so once re-started it continued to draw and flow fluid. Only way to be sure is to load up your 3PH attachment and get her out and working in the same circumstance as when the initial failure was seen.
