I just took my backhoe off yesterday so I can start using the box blade. Yesterday I could get the hitch to raise very very very slowly but today it wouldn't raise at all. I've got the lowering speed valve open all the way. I followed the instructions for "bleeding" the system. Is there another valve somewhere I'm missing? I've studied the manual and can find nothing. I've only had this tractor a few days so I'm just learning the basics. Makes me wonder if I did something wrong when detaching the backhoe. I'm stumped. Its a 2007 CK30HST.

Did you get the rear remotes installed with the BH?
If so, there should be a small lever to your right that needs to be switched to the center detent position to get the 3-pt to work.
If you didn't get the rear remotes, there is a small valve under the right fender that needs to be turned.
Hope this helps.

I don't believe I have a remote. I bought the tractor used and no mention was made of that. I just have the two hyraulic connections on the back that went to the backhoe hoses. I saw someone else mentioned a valve under the right fender and I breifly looked for it before I left for work this morning but didn't see anything obvious. Can anyone give me an exact location or tell me what it looks like? Thanks

The two hydraulic connections at the back are referred to as "remotes". When an implement is hooked up, one is an "in" and one is an "out", depending on which hose you connect to them. Accordingly, the lever that turns the remote lines on and off have three positions - up, center and down. The hydraulic service to thoe remotes has to be turned off (in the center detent position) when there is no impement connected (no completed "loop"). It will be in either the up or down position depending on which hose is connected to which connector (line). I'm not sure about the CK series, but I assume the lever that should be accessible from the operator's platform. It must be placed into the center detent position so that te pump is not trying to push and pull hydraulic fluid thru the lines which aren't connected (because it cannot). This is called "deadheading", and puts undue strain on the hydraulic pump, and could be the reason your lift is slow. Look for a lever below the seat and near the lift levers.

I thought the yellow handled lever next to the position control lever is what sent hydraulic fluid to the backhoe. I also thought it was just a two position lever. Is this the same one you are talking about?

The yellow lever to the right of the seat has 3 positions, when nothing is hooked to the rear hydro connections, it should be in the center (off)

OK, I think the problem is solved then. I didn't realize there was a center detent. The guy I bought it from was only slightly less clueless than me about this thing and he didn't explain that very well. I hope I didn't hurt anything. I'll try it as soon as I get home. Thanks a lot everyone!

There are 2 ways that a backhoe is attached to the tractor's hydraulic
system. One is off one of the remote valves, referred to by others. The
other is with a power beyond loop, which requires that you set the
diverter switch back to 3-pt when the backhoe is off. I have the former
detented remote and do it that way. If you have the remote(s), and you
are running the tractor with it in either detented position (not the center),
your engine will be straining hard as all implement pump flow must go thru
the relief valve.

Just to confirm, I just found the center detent on that lever and it really feels more like just a sticky spot between the forward and back positions but the 3 pt hitch definitely works with the lever there. I can't imagine why there wouldn't be some kind of three position label there but so be it. I'm still trying to figure out this "remote" and "power beyond loop" stuff. I think from what I have been told I have the "remote" set-up. These tractors are a lot more fancy than they used to be but I sure do like this rig. I can't wait to get out on it and put that box blade to work. Thanks for the help everybody.

From my understanding, if you have the valve, you have the 'remote' setup. If you have the 'power beyond' setup, you need to attach a hose between the disconnect fittings to allow fluid to flow when the BH is removed. By the way, there should be a label next to the yellow handled valve, labeled A N B. With the N position in the middle where the valve should be when there is nothing attached to the rear hydraulic fittings.
