Seen a version of this on the farm show web site.

The idea of this implement is to effectively control weeds without completely disrupting the surface of the soil too conserve moisture. Farmer in Canada claims better yields, better moisture retention and so on. I was hooked, so I decided to build one for myself and try the theory and implement.

My version is a bit heavier that is pictured on the farm show web site. The cutting edge is 66'' wide used skid steere bucket cutting edge, the top link material is re-purposed AR 450 plate and the rest is inch thick re-purposed cutting edge from a front end loader.

I'm going to resume you have rock free, sandy enough soil to make that work well... ??

Almost rock free.
It's not for deep tillage, more of a below the surface harrow.

Those things make a great sod cutter. What are you planning on using that on?

The plan is to use it in between the rows of seedling trees to keep the weeds down without disrupting the surface of the soil like a harrow or a tiller would. Maintaining surface tension helps maintain moisture, valuable commodity.

I'm over a month out for any dirt activity unfortunately....
