3 point backhoe safety

Just thought this would be of interest. Tells about someone being crushed when the 3 point backhoe malfunctioned. I wish I knew how to post this where you could just click on the link and be directed to it. Could someone please inform me on the way to do this?

I read the article and it sounded like it came partially unhitched and he fell on a lever causing it to activate and crush him between the BH and the ROPS. Sad situation, but it sounds as if he might have been ok if the tractor did not have a ROPS!?

Sounds like the key in this case was to make sure the hookup is good and parts not worn out.

I clicked on the link and it was about a skid steer with a backhoe attachment, not a tractor with a 3 point backhoe. Either way it is a terrible thing to happen.

Yes you are right Brent, a skidsteer, must have been pinched between the cage and the BH . Again a tragic thing.

It can happen with a 3PH backhoe on a tractor as well...
