I'm looking for one. I have room for a 3 or 4 row too, but a 2 row would be adequate.
Any leads appreciated. I've seen what's on eBay and, wow.

I look on craigslist. I've bought 2 on there, sold one on there.

They have gotten very pricey for sure. I have a 2 row JD 71 that I am going to sell. It is in good working condition, but I recently sold off the part of my acreage that is tillable so I don't need it anymore. I bought it 3 or 4 years ago and only planted a few acres of food plots with it. I am in Tennessee so I doubt you would want to drive that far to pick one up. PM me if you want any further info.

North central.

There are likely a number of farm auctions around you. Planters are a little hard to find at times but at auction they stay pretty reasonable. Go to auctionzip.com for upcoming auctions. In the north, the Yoder and Frye auctions often have planters and in the middle section of the state Tri-Green occasionally has them. An auction would be the best bet and I would look for an IH, Deere, or older Allis Chalmers. Forget the rest.

Craigslist would work but involves a lot of back and forth conversation, often goods are priced high and there are miles to travel that often involves a wild goose chase and related expenses that add to the price of whatever you wind up buying. Ohio is blessed with some great auction sites and in one trip you will have a chance to buy whatever it is you want at whatever price the market will bear. Their auction ads often run an entire page in the paper and list hundreds of items. A lot of dealers go to these auctions and a lot of the things wind up on dealer lots as inventory.

There's that and there are numerous farm auctions especially in the central area of the state. Prices generally run on the low to average side and I've seen a lot of farm items that wind up for sale on Craig's List or Ebay. Just my two cents here in favor of an auction to buy farm equipment. :)
