3 ph lift arm width on B7100

Hi, I did a search on this and couldn't find anything, so sorry if this has been covered.

I am new to tractors and just got a B7100 and then purchased a 24" pond scoop. It looks to be a home-made job. It seems I'll need to have the lift arms about 34" apart when it is connected (pins face out from the frame but I think they would hit the scoop if reversed, also rusted in solid).

I have not used the three-point hitch before, so I'd appreciate some help with this. I see that there are two bars with turnbuckles connecting the lift arms back to pivot point of the lift arms that obviously control the width of the lift arms. It also looks like there is a second, wider attachment point for these. Currently the arms are about 24 inches apart and the turnbuckles are adjusted most of the way out.

Do I need to move the adjusting links out to the other connecting point, or do I remove them altogether for using this kind of implement, or is the scoop I got just too wide for my B7100?

Many thanks for your assistance with yet another newbee question! I do find there is a lot of support on this site for the idea of quick hitches, and maybe sometime I will be going that route, but for right now I want to know how to work with what I have, gotta move some gravel!

I think I figured this out, so for whatever help it may be to others:

1. I can extend the width of the lower arms by moving the turnbuckle connecting links (Kubota calls these check chains, apparently) to the outer connecting points.

2. At that point, the outward movement is limited by the lifting brackets for the MMM, so I'll have to either figure out how to hold the MMM up (maybe chains?) and remove those brackets and the attached linkages, or remove the MMM if I want to mount the scoop.

For my 24" scoop I flipped the pins around. I mean pins on the the scoop frame now point inwards, it makes mounting much easier.

I don't know if anything less than a cutting torch will move the pins on this baby, but I'll probably give it a try and see.

I don't know if this is a standard size but I believe Category I implements have a 26 inch space between the lower link arm pins. I would try to turn the pins inward even if it took a torch.

It took me some effort to get those pins loose, but getting the scoop on and off is no longer a back breaking job.
