That's how it should be.

If possible run with stabilizers to limit mechanical damage. It should not be completely rigid though and have a little play.

I agree Lynn! So far so good!

I do have a slotted hole in my stabilizer arms and that is what I had been using. Someone had suggested not using stabilizers, so I tried that. I will be using the slotted holes on the stabilizers again so there is some movement but not too much.

You will know if the plow is in proper adjustment when it remains centered with the tractor in use. If stabilizers are required to achieve this you will have difficulty in keeping your tractor straight as it will want to pull to one side or the other.

If your soil type varies within your field the plow will pull towards the UNplowed side when encountering softer soil and vice versa when the soil is more compacted. Don’t worry about this as the only downside will be crooked furrows.

Nope, no problem to report! Everything is working good. My field is looking GREAT and ready to be planted. Just waiting for night time temps to stay above freezing. I will run the disk over the garden a few more times, or maybe borrow a tiller and run that through there, but it is about ready as well.

This is great news. You've gotten a lot of work done already this spring! Glad to hear the plow pulls as expected and that the wider wheels have stabilized the ride. Where do you have your front's set?

When I ordered mine I asked for the widest settings for the wheels. The dealer setup both front and back which I wasn't actually expecting. I was thinking back only but didn't specify. The fronts look a bit too wide in the sense that the wheels are pretty far out there. This spring I plan to move them in a few inches. I'm not sure how much benefit they provide in terms of stability and I worry about the front drive gears with the longer 'lever arm' and heavy loads in the FEL.

I believe my fronts are still in the "med" width setting. I did not swap sides with them like I did the rears. I agree with you, I do not think widening the fronts would provide much in terms of stability. One thing that I had thought about was that my tires were within the width of the bucket which was good for pushing deep snow. Now they will be outside the width of the bucket, so I will find out next winter how much of a negative effect this has if I have to move as much snow as I did this winter. Hopefully this winter I will have my truck mounted plow set up to use with the tractor. It is wider than my bucket and tires will still fit inside its path.

Big barn, I think the plow is set up pretty well as I do not have any problems plowing a straight line with it. The garden was not exactly a great test of this conclusion as I was only plowing 100' (at most) at a time across very uneven terrain as I worked the sand, manure, clay, and straw together. Out in the field it seemed to plow as straight as I could steer. You are right though, any time the soil transitioned from sandy to clay it would pull and it showed in my furrows.
