3-bottom mould board plough and MX5000 ?

Hi, I have a 4wd MX5000 with loaded rear tires. Do you think it would pull a 3pt, 3-bottom mould board plough in Sand-Loam?

It's an old Ford plough with tripping shares, coulters. My next question is will the tractor pick it up off the ground with the 3pt ? I think this is probably a very heavy plough.

It would most likly pull it. Should not have a problem lifting it.

Have R1 tires will make a big difference. With R4s I don' t think it will work.

That plow was made to be pulled a Ford 800 series tractor. Those models had approximately 45 hp, were 2wd and weighed about 4000 lbs with loaded tires. Wheel weights were a must in heavier soil, but in sandy soil it would not be a problem without extra weight. I don't think you will have any problem at all with 4wd.

100% correct on the Ford 800 series. You have more than enough horesepower, weight, and ability to lift. My concern would be tracking in the furrow. What is the plow size? Is it 12", 14", 16"? Measure on the top the beams from plow to plow. I assume your rear tire will be too wide to fit in furrow. Only one way to find out, get it and try! Good luck. Philip.
