3/4000 power reverser question

New to the small deeres here, sorry for dumb question. On 3000/4000 series compacts, please explain power reverser. It says 12 forward, 12 reverse, but is it just that... 12 selections? I'm used to 7000 series that you pick a range and then can toggle between gears, or older quads that have a high low in each gear, kinda like a TA. Any pics of this layout as far as where the gear selections are made... Like from the operations point of view.

No literature shows it!

12F/12R power reverser is a electro mechanical shuttle shift forward/reverse no clutching required. It has three ranges A,B,C non synchronized. And 4 Gears 1,2,3,4, that are synchronized clutch required. Gear and Range are on sticks on the right with a forward reverse shifter on the left of the steering column for last few years.

Was hoping the 1,2,3,4 we're push button... Yet I still like this idea. Need to look at it further. Any pics?

The reverser transmission is really nice and the versatility of 12F/12R fits every application I've come across.
Do be aware the some reverser transmission (the early 4x00 series from 1998-2005 or so) do require the clutch used when changing direction. These are designated "Sync-Reverser".

^. Thanks! I bought an estate and part of the deal was a b7800 kubota. Tough as a tank, but I'm thinking it may be too small for me. Was looking at 3 series deeres, but now 4 series. I like the gear tranny idea, but most everything is hydro. We shall see. May make an offer on a somewhat local 4320. Thanks for the info folks!
