I am looking at getting a 2920 in the next couple of days to take advantage of the financing. I have a quote of $17,695 with FEL and 60inch MMM. Seems like not too bad of a price but I am hoping to get it a little lower. However, what I would really like is a 72inch MMM. This is not an option on the Kubota website without going to the 3200. Even though this is not listed as an option can a 72inch MMM be used on the 2920.

Also, is there an option for an upgraded seat? I have heard about this for some Kubota models but not sure about the 2920.

I know I can talk to the dealer but I want to ask this community as I think they can be more knowledgeable than the dealers.

I will have had my 2920 2 years in 2 weeks. It has 200 hours on it. I just dropped it off at the dealer to have a couple of minor things looked at before the warrenty runs out.

I believe the 6' MMM is a floating deck so the wheels ride on the ground. The 60" MMM used on the 2920 is a suspended deck held up with the wheels only touching to avoid scalping. There have been some complaints about scalping on this forum with the 6' mowers and I don't know what would be involved in making it work on the 2920, but I doubt that it would be a direct hook up.

The seat for me has been ok. Recently the vinyl fabric seems to be wanting to pull away from the foam and bunch some, but otherwise ok. Maybe this is due to to much of a pucker factor when on hills. Maybe the seat used on the 2630 would fit. It has arm rests.

As for price, that is only about 5 or $600 more than I paid for mine and that is after 2 years of increases.

Out of curriosity, I looked at the Kubota website and it looks like the B2630 is available with a 72" mower. Some on this forum have reported rebates available for the the 2630, but it still will be more than a 2920 unless you can find a real deal. But the Bxx30's are very nice tractors and would give you the upgraded seat, bigger mower if you want and several other nice features including more lifting capability with the FEL & 3pt hitch and position control on the hitch instead of 1/4" valve.

Good luck.

As KU Gator pointed out the 72" mmm mounts in a totally different way, and works in a different way. If you need a deck that size you should just go with the larger tractor. There are plenty of used 72" decks around (what does that say?) so they are available if you want to try modifying one. I'm not so sure that they would even fit between the front, and rear tires of the smaller B's though..... They are pretty BIG mower decks!

I bought a 2920 with the FEL and the 60" MMM just 2 months ago. I also bought a fair amount of other stuff, but the tractor/loader and mower was $17,450. I priced everything at 3 dealers around me telling each that whoever had the low price has the sale. I'm satisfied with the deal I got, but I still wish I had called Barlows as well. I'm not sure what they would sell it for, but I'll bet I'd save some on the price, Since I'm not sales tax-exempt I may have saved on the sales tax as well. BTW, if openly discussing these prices on the forum is taboo, would someone let me know? I mention that because it's not commonly posted in a thread.....at least it looks that way to me.

Ductape, I'm not positive, but I know that Townline Equipment in Plainfield has a half dozen, or so that look like the ones for the larger B series. The 60" ones they have might be for the B7510, etc. though. The last time I swung through Pinnacle View Equipment in Walpole it looked like they had some too, but I didn't get out to examine them. Actually, I swung through Townline tonight after I had taken myself out to dinner, but didn't look at the used mowers. Both places have had them hanging around for a while, and don't have used tractors to match so they might want to deal a bit. Both have web sites with contact info........ let me know if there is anything in particular you are looking for, and I'll see if they have it.

Just thinking eventually I want the 72" for my 3030 (RC72-30B??) ........I'd have to look up the model number to be sure. Like I said, it wouldn't be next week, but I'd like to find a used one in nice shape. Eventually I'd like to have some sort of collection system / bagger........ and obviously need the mid mower for that. I hate raking .

I started with the 60" MMM on my B3030, but quickly went up to the 72" RC72-30B.

The extra foot makes it easier to mow around fence lines and get closer to obstacles. Plus, mowing the pasture goes a little faster (diesel is expensive). It's great for flat areas, but I probably wouldn't recommend it if you have a lot of slopes, hills and uneven areas to maintain. The extra width hurts in that case.

I'm guessing that most of the mmm's that I have seen are the xxx-72-27B for the earlier 2910, or B7800....... you have given me reason to poke around more though, and I'll let you know if I do see one.

The extra width would be nice - would also be able to use the wheel extenders with that mower which I can't do with the 60". How do you find the extra weight when removing / installing on the tractor?

I asked about the cost of the 72" when buying and the difference was just too much at the time - was more than half the cost of the 60" mower itself. Did you get a reasonable trade in price?
