2910 undustrial, convert shuttlle shift to traditional floor shift

New to the board but not that new vintage ford tractors. I just picked up a 86? 2910 industrial with the steering column mounted controls. I kinda want to move tese bock to the floor. is it just a simple as pulling the shifterrs and linkage out and replacing the floor plate with a gear case cover with integrated shifters.

The main driver for thi is that I have a rather wooded lot and more that twice yesterday limbs grabbed the gear leavers and knocked me out of gear.

If it were mine I would add a deflector to keep the limbs away from the levers.
