2755 alt light

Hello,
I'm a new user here.
My issue is the alternator light stays lit until I rev the engine up to 1500 rpm's.
I have tighten up the belt thinking that was the issue but it made no differance.
What else should I try?

What can you tell us about the history of the 2755 ? hours? age? things you have done? etc. ?

I can't tell you much about the history of this tractor. I purchased it in April of 2014
It has 7000 hrs on it.
I'm thinking of taking the alternator to an auto parts store and have it tested.

Does the back of the belt set lower in the "v" than the outside diameter of the alt.pulley? If so is belt bottoming out in the "v" allowing belt to slip?

Since the light does go out, the alternator is charging. I would look for a bad connection or suspect the regulator.

Since the regulator is built into the alternator I replaced the alternator and now the light goes out. Seems to be working now.
