Better because of more flow - 5.5 gpm for steering vs 2.2 gpm and 5.0 gpm for implement / hydrostatic vs 3.4 gpm

Hiya,

I wouldn't want a smaller tractor without the gear reduction housings. We have an '68 Economy Deluxe that has them and they haven't given a lick of trouble since new. The hour meter broke sometime in the early 80's at 9999.9 so we don't know how many it actually has but we figure at least double that. It's only 12HP but it will pull a loaded farm wagon up the mountain easier than our 2520.

With both transmissions in low the manual says it has a 573 to 1 total reduction, slower than a snail in winter.....
