OK, yet another price quote for your opinions:

25D - $12,900
7308 FEL - $ 2,375
914A 60" MMM - $ 2,000

Total $17,275 + Tax

Wadda ya think?

I paid $15,500 for my 25D with FEL. $1600 for MMM.
30 Hrs on tractor, working great!

Sounds like a decent price. I paid about 17,700 for a TC33D and 7308 fel last Summer. Is the mmm rear discharge? A rear mounted finish mower would probably cost less and be much easier to install and remove.

Mike, the mower I assume is side discharge. This assumption is based upon the NH literature that states that the only rear discharge mower is 72" and he quoted a price for a 60".

I did briefly talk to him about a rear mount finish mower (for the reasons you mentioned). My concern was the posibility (or, in my case, likelihood) that I might do some damage to my fence or the mower as I learn how to negotiate the tractor around my house. As the dealer is a neighbor of mine, he knows the conditions under which the tractor will be used. His statement was that a rear mower would be inappropriate for my use. For the reasons mentioned above, his opinion supported my concerns.

Thanks for the reply.

bmac,

You can get rear discharge in 60 & 72". It is not available for the 54" (only fits the smaller TC's anyway).

I am waiting my 60" rear discharge to come in. In the meantime the dealer loned me a RFM.

You are making the right decision to go with a MMM if you have lots of obstacles. the RFM adds 5 feet to the overall length of my tractor. I've dinged up plenty of trees already as when you turn left the mower swings right.

Thats kinda what I thought and makes perfect sense. I use mine for mowing the wide open spaces and use a small rider for around the house.

Hazmat, is the 60" rear discharge from NH or 3rd party? Do you have a model #?

How about mounting/dismounting the MMM? Dealer says its pretty easy but what is easy to some.... Something he told be that I am still having a hard time accepting is that once the MMM has been disconnected, that you can back your tractor right over it (i.e., front wheel rolling over the mower deck) without any problems. When its time to put it back on, just drive over the deck again and hook it up. Is this true?

It is the New Holland model 914A. There is a seperate one page brochure on the mower deck.

As far as ease of attachment, I don't know yet. My impression (from my dealer and TBN users) is that it is a job measured in minutes, not hours (but not seconds either). If you're getting the FEL, I'm told you can lift the front end up with the FEL & slide the MMM out sideways if you don't want to run it over.

Well, maybe NH had to limit the list of attachments in the Boomer brochure for space reasons. Or, maybe the rear discharge option in a 60" deck became available after the brochure was published. In any event, thank you for responding.
