Has Mahindra actually solved the EGR issue on the 2565 tractor? My dealer has just started with Mahindra tractors and can't find any information about updates that would fix my tractor's sputtering and malfunction light coming on. Does anyone have any information that I could pass on to my dealer to get this issue resolved? It has become progressively worse, and today would not even allow me to use my tractor to move a little snow.
Thank you so much.

On the 2555, a brother to your tractor, they have a software update that adds a little more ooomph to the movement of the EGR. Along with a good cleaning, that solved all the problems I had originally on my 2555. The EGR can be cleaned by unpluging it, then removing it from the tractor. It has a metal gasket that will allow you to reuse it. The EGR can them be cleaned [ soot removed ] by spraying it with brake cleaner, with a little rubbing with an rag. Once you get it clean, then put it back on. You need to run the thing at fairly high RPM's, and not lug it around at low RPM's which will just soot it back up. Again, this is for the 2555, but might work for you. Another thing that will set the MALFUNCTION light is turning the key to start without waiting a few ticks for the computer time to start up and things settle down. I start mine and allow it to idle down [ computer starts it up around 1100 then calms down to 800 on mine ]. Once it hits 800, I bump it up around 13-1400 while I am getting it ready to take out of the barn, run it out at this RPM, then let it chug outside for 5 minutes or so at that speed. Then bump it up to 2K or so and take her out for work. In the winter, if your 2565 is similar to mine, you might have to partially block the radiator to make sure you are running it at the normal thermostat temp it is designed for. I use a piece of plastic with about a 9" hole in it for mine. Failure to run it hot enough can soot it up, too. My 2555 needed the radiator blocked even running a blower.

Thanks Jerry, I know what my tomorrow project will be. Warmer weather for that task would have been nice.

I added some more to my post about running it at temp... Good luck, Jerry... :)

I apologize, my memory failed me... I am running a 7.5" hole in my plastic in front of my radiator... I ran a 9" last year, and put that in the front of the radiator on my little 1526. I ' think ' that the thermostat in the 2555 was only about 165 degrees. It took for ever for it to get up to that, plus anytime I was not specifically really working the blower, you could see the temp gauge go down. Not much cab heat, either. The 7.5" works great. Made of WallyWorld sign plastic [ 1/4" poster board in school supplies area ], $2 something a sheet.

Just for future reference: M Pro 7( copper solvent) works wonders on carbon. I soaked it, then rinsed it in hot soapy water. Worked great. Back together tomorrow.

You are supposed to hit about all the way up to 10 degrees tomorrow about 2pm....... :) I used to come down to Lake City to the JD dealer south of town, and bought a bunch of trailer loads of B&B and 20 gallon trees from Dutchman. Nice area....

Figuring out some way to block the EGR system without tripping the check engine light would be the better solution. Soot production would drop and fuel efficiency would increase.

I live right around the corner from the John Deere dealer. Bill has always treated me very well and I bought more than a little bit of stuff from them. The Dutchman folks are good people I've known the owners for years.
I can build the physical part of the EGR valve delete but I don't know how to reconfigure the computer to not send codes. There is a fella in Mesick that has worked on a lot of heavy equipment and has his own shop now, that I am hoping might be able to solve the computer side of that EGR system. I'm with you I would love to get rid of that problem and let my tractor idle once in awhile.
