The dealer just dropped off our new 2555 HST yesterday. When I got home from work and fired it up to put her in the barn I noticed the Check Engine Light was on. With these new Tier IV engines being computer controlled it could be any number of things. I wanted to post this to let others know what I did to turn the light off.
I tried disconnecting the battery and waiting an hour-that didn't work.
The service manager at the dealership called and asked if I had left it idling for a long time. I hadn't but apparently this could be a cause to make the CIL come on.
He advised me to turn the tractor on and let it run at idle for 3-5 min then turn it off and wait 3-5 min. Repeat total of 5 times and on the 6th start the light should be off. It worked for me on the 5th start. Light is off.
