Window Shopping/Wishful Thinking
The dealer just dropped off our new 2555 HST yesterday. When I got home from work and fired it up to put her in the barn I noticed the Check Engine Light was on. With these new Tier IV engines being computer controlled it could be any number of things. I wanted to post this to let others know what I did to turn the light off.

I tried disconnecting the battery and waiting an hour-that didn't work.

The service manager at the dealership called and asked if I had left it idling for a long time. I hadn't but apparently this could be a cause to make the CIL come on.

He advised me to turn the tractor on and let it run at idle for 3-5 min then turn it off and wait 3-5 min. Repeat total of 5 times and on the 6th start the light should be off. It worked for me on the 5th start. Light is off.

Thanks for sharing.

Makes me think twice about buying a new tractor. I think I will make mine last the rest of my life.

If you've got one that meets your needs and runs good I'd keep it. My old tractor is 50 yrs old and just wasn't cutting it anymore. Gently used tractors a couple years old are non-existant so it was cheaper for us to buy new.
