2550 cold hydro noise.

Have been blowing snow with temps near 0
When first using tractor hydro will groan under load when cold.
Pulled out bypass rod to pump drive pedal. Tractor would move when stepping
on drive pedal. When tractor warms up no noise works fine.Fluid level is
full and clean.Any thoughts?

It's just telling you...Man , it's cold out here!! But seriously, the hydro fluid is so stiff that it tries to drive it evenwhen you pull the bypass, ought to tell you something. It is a good idea to run at lower engine speeds and reduced loads until it warms up at least partially. I doubt there is anything wrong with the machine. Both my old bolens hydro and kubota BX make more noise when really cold. I am lucky enough to avoid it most of the time by keeping them warm in the shop. Hope this helps, Steveguy.

What? Noise with $9/qt Cub Cadet Drive System Fluid Plus, super fantastic magical synthetic hydro oil?!?! Hehehe.. seriously though, it's just the cold. There's a lot of oil in the sump on these. Yours still moves with the "bypass" pulled out? My 2544 does too. Always did. I've got to crawl under and mash the spring loaded 'button valve' a few times to get it to take on mine. I must have a sticky shuttle ball in mine.
