I have decided on a JD 2520, with 200cx fel, 62d mid-mount mower, and a rear rotary cutter (haven't decided on which size yet). What's the opinion on getting the IMatch Autohitch/Quickhitch? Are there any basic accessories recommended for the tractor? At this time I will be using it predominately for finish mowing/rough mowing and landscape work. I do have brush/trees I will be mowing around, and clearing some. And also, what kind of a discount should be fair, and are the tractor and implements usually both discounted, or just the tractor?

I've been reading a lot on here and have already learned a lot from you folks.

Thanks,

Jim

The Imatch may or may not work with all implements due to the pin geometry and distance (not all are standard).. I personally have the Pats EZ change and it works pretty much with any implement..

from my understanding you do get a discount on implements when bought with the tractor.. I think you normally get between a 12 and 15% off retail on the tractor, not sure how the implements are discounted

I would go with a 5' rotary cutter.. I have a 4' with my 2320 and wish i could handle a bigger one at times..

That autohitch would be real nice when connecting to the 5' rotary.
The other 3 pt attachments can usually be easily fitted to work with the iMatch, and then you don't have to do much but drop attachments and pick up others.
The iMatch by itself has been a good tool to have, especially for moving logs and other projects.
Sounds like a great direction to go. Maybe can hear from others who have the autohitch.

I LOVE the iMatch...but the auto hitch thing does nothing for me. The hardest part of hooking up a 3PH implement is getting the lower arms and top-link connected, and the iMatch takes care of that. Hooking up the PTO shaft is easy! Add to that the cost/complexity and the very few implements it is compatible with it's just not worth the price IMHO.

I think I agree with that.
Having the autohitch might be real handy for a landscaper with several PTO attachments needed, such as rotary cutter, tiller, landscaping power rake, plus a box blade, ballast box, etc. Can drop attachments and grab others without dismount.
I also do not find hooking up the PTO a problem, but have heard that there is a demand for the PTO auto-connect, and know a lot of R&D has gone into perfecting one.

I match works great on my 4110. If you can back up square to the implement it hooks up automatically. Now if I can find a way to release the kick stand I wouldn't have to get out of the drivers seat.

I didn't think the Auto-Hitch worked with the 2000 series but maybe I'm wrong.

I have I-Match on my 4720 (Had it on my former 3720 and 3320 also) but have Pat's easy change on the 2305. Both are great.

Also, one positive side effect of Pat's is you'll get a little more lift height out of the hitch). (I don't think so with I-Match since it stays Parallel).

Also, if you are doing a 0% deal get your implements now. Your implements will be 0% also and the JD dealer I deal with can get non-JD implements at 0 also as long as JD doesn't make them. (I got a Shaver Stump Grinder when I got my 3720 at 0% with JD financing).

Hello Jim

I-Match yes,yes.
Auto Hitch..save your money for something more useful...my .02 of course:)

Also....MAKE SURE IT HAS THE NEW STYLE ARMS ON THE 3PT,BEFORE YOU EVEN SEE IT!!
In my case anyway,it was a bunch of BS to get them. Dealer has to follow some ridiculous paperwork procedure. So,make sure they are already on it when delivered to save you the headache:)

I also feel that the iMatch was money well spent, especially if you're buying a new tractor and new attachments. It will be easy to get them all iMatch compatible, particularly if you buy Frontier attachments.

The autohitch seems like unnecessary complication and expense to me. It's pretty easy to hook up the drive shaft once you learn to shift the PTO to "front" so you can spin the PTO shaft to line up the splines.

I would recommend spending the $ to get a JD iMatch instead of one of the other similar quick hitches because I believe they are made better.
