I might have a lead on a nice looking Beefco 4' tiller.

I've never used a 3PH tiller before, I was wondering about the size.

Is 4' appropriate for my 2520? I know that 4' will not cover my tire tracks, but is that a big deal when using a tiller?

This would be a nice addition to my implements as I am slowly getting into more lawn installations. (just can't afford a Harley Rake right now....).

Most of the 4' tillers are offset so you have to go round and round instead of back and forth. I have a 5' King Kutter and my tractor handles it very well. Tilling or installing a new yard you will probably use the skid shoes to keep a uniform depth so it wouldn't pull real hard. I had a 2210 and used this tiller and still pulled it. Some times I use my disc to rip up a little before I use tiller. The King Kutters, in my opinion are well built and not as expensive as some other brands, plus they are heavy which is a plus when tilling. Hope I have helped someway!!

Hi,

Deere specs either the offset 47" 647 or centered 55" 655 for 2520.

I would say that 48" Beefco would do well but just remember with the offset your going to have to plan your route through your work beforehand in order to keep yourself from tilling yourself into a corner so to speak.

Couple things to check:
1) I-Match compatibility, some tillers will not work with them.
2) If it includes a PTO shaft and clutch.

Right now my 655's sitting on a pallet waiting for the snow to melt, the ground to thaw and mud season to end, until then, I'm spending my seat time pushing snow around.....http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Prosperity,
I am going to buy a 4'King Kutter from TSC for my 2320. My friends up the road tilled our garden this spring for us. They had a 50"Bush Hog tiller on their Kubota B7510 which is 21Hp(engine) and had no problem. I anticipate no problems for me with the 4' KingKutter, so I would think you should be fine. Good Luck!

Thanks for the replies so for.

I didn't know they were offset - good information.

If buying new, I would probably go for something wider, but if I can make this deal, it is about 1/3 the cost of new with paint still on the tines - driveshaft is included.

This isn't something that I had planned on buying right now, but if the price is right, I will find use for it.

After an email from the seller, turns out to be a 42" tiller.

Being my outside tire measurement is 52", I don't think it will work too well.
And looking at the photo of it, it looks to be centered and not offset.

Oh well, not something that I "needed" anyway - but would buy it if the fit for my tractor was better.

You will really like the King Kutter. I love mine, one pass through the garden and you sink to your ankles! The price is not that exensive for what you get. Mine is so quiet, can't hear it run. Also 4' is right for the 2320. I had a 2210 and the 5' made it look like a steam locomotive, and the 2320 has about the same power. Good luck on whatever you buy!!

Thanks Newt92,
Santa brought a lot of gift cards for TSC, that will pay for about 40% of the tiller! I was not sure about the 4 footer, until I saw it was offset, then I knew it would be fine. My store has one 4 footer left, not sure whether to try to get them down a bit now, or let it go and see if it is still there in the spring.

I would get one that covers your path! I have a JD Frontier 57"... It can be offset.. But we use it centered on the 3720 and my fathers 4110.. even the 20HP 4110 has zero issues with it... I am thinking of getting a 65" and I know the 4110 would handle it fine.

I have a Howard 48" on my 2210. I am an novice gardener, but I try to space out the garden so I can till in the rows. This size tiller works best for me.
