I finally got the temp gauge installed after having it sit on my work bench for three years. Of course the bushing for the sensor was the wrong one and nobody in town had the right one. So I checked the sensor itself and it was 3/8 national fine so I drilled and tapped the plug that I pulled out of the block below the thermostat. I had more pictures but my phone hates me so hopefully these load ok.

Looks good to me, fits in the dash as if factory install.

Yeah what I don't get is why you would ever manufacture and sell a tractor without one. When I'm bush hogging at the acreage the grill is constantly plugging with popular fuzz. At least now I'll know if the tractor is getting too warm.

Good to know what's going on with your engine, especially on an older tractor where things might happen, and you'd want to know. I had installed three handy gauges on my first tractor, an 80's B8200. Seemed to work nicely in letting me know everything was operating as it should. Oil pressure, coolant temp. and volts.
