Has anyone else encountered this problem, my 2520 will shut off while it's running. It doesn't matter if I'm on it or its idling in neutral. I thought it was do to the hot weather this summer, but it is acting up again lately. I've been treating the fuel and thought it was the problem bfore. The dealer couldn't find anything wrong. Anybody have anu ideas?

Try to find patterns as to when it happens. Is it always cold when it happens? If so you may just need to increase your RPMs. Is your PTO always on or is it in gear? It could be the seat sensor or just that you're getting up off the seat. Does it only happen after it's been run for a while or only when it's just been started? Does it happen at some RPMs but not others? Is it only when certain implements are in use? Check the manual for recommended services, have you done them? Are any of your other functions a little off (for example, slow or jerky hydraulics)?

I'd be suspicious of one of your safety shutoffs. The one under the seat is probably the first one to check. Others had mentioned occasional problems with the fuel shutoff solenoid.

there doesn't seem to be a pattern to when it shuts off. I have to let it sit for a while then it usuaslly starts up. Sometimes it come back other time it runs great.

Sounds like a possible electrical problem, which may be tough to track down. How often does it do it? Check all the fuses to make sure they are tight and are making good contact in the fuse holder. I wouldn't think a fuel problem would be happening on an occassional event.

You might consider putting a jumper wire across the seat saftey switch to eliminate that as the problem.

Sincerely, Dirt

I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

Possible intermediate fuel starvation issue. I had a similar problem with debrin the the gas tank.

Hiya,

Sounds simple but it's often missed, fuel tank vent. Make sure the vent is open. Easy way to test is leave the filler cap loose and run it, if it stays running, you have found your issue, plugged vent.

My 2 cents,

Tom

Does it shut right off like you turned the key off or does it stumble and starve before it quits? If it stumbles I would check the fuel filter bowl to see if it's full of fuel.

I would start with the seat switch like previously posted

Take a look underneath. There is a connector that can become loose. I have had mine disconnected driving over brush. But, come to think of it, maybe that did not cause it to shut off, but just not start up. Oh well, never mind...
