Finally raked/seeded around the new pond last weekend. Sure hope we get some rain soon!

Very dry Summer. Probably about 5' in it now, deep end will be 12' or so. Fortunately the spring is still flowing and will help keep her clear and cool, or so I'm told. Hatchery told me I could put fathead minnows in now and maybe even some bluegills. Will add largemouth bass and perch next Spring. Suprising how many frogs call it home already. We'll have the JD get together next year!

looks great, did you line it with anything? clay, plastic etc. cause I see you have a lot of gravel, wondering how the water will stay in, or will the spring you mentioned be enough to keep it charged.
I was thinking of digging one myself in a low area in my yard, but don't think there will be enough water to keep it filled, the area does flood in the winter and spring but dries up in the summer.

My soil content is heavy on clay and hard pan-not sure exactly what that is, but it sure holds water well. Ponds are numerous in my area, my 3 immediate neighbors have 2 each!
