I'd like to hear from the experts on this. Will a 2500 PSI cylinder hold up on a 2750 PSI system??

Most manufacturers use a 4:1 safety factor. 10% over should be fine.

Burst test at 4:1 factor....
It is a warranty and liability issue....
Most cylinders experience a lot higher pressure than rated, when there are induced pressure spikes....even though these spikes are very short in time....
If there were no pressure spikes, the safety factor could be lower than 4:1....

If that cylinder do not have to operate at 2750psi, you can always use a work port pressure relief valve, set at 2500psi, to protect the "underrated" cylinder.

Or spend the extra few bucks and buy a 3000psi cylinder. It isn't like they are hard to find.

Shortened life span, and not much shorter with a difference of 250 psi

Save your $, wear that one out then replace it with 3000 psi unit
(though I doubt it'll wear out). As mentioned, Its not going explode.
