250 belarus,ginding,trany seizing

Hello,I have a 250 belarus 2 wheel,,working fine a day ago,now put it in gear start moving and you hear a grinding noise from the section between clutch and transmition ,,next thing you know it's like brakes are being applied,,which barely function on an average day,clutch works fine put it in reverse and it backs up,,,frees up,,put it in neutral and it is still in reverse like a slipping reverse,,what could hang up and cause it to lock up,and when coming from reverse still be in reverse when shifted to neutral,scary the first time,,any help would be appreciated as it's my wood time,thank you,,Removed side cover greased throwout,looks clean moves well,the throwout that is,that wasn't the problem.

hello,,after deciding to dissasemble the top of case,,to see what the trouble was,,,I took all plates on top off then discovered all the pipes needed offing too!!! so I took all the side plates off to get a quicker view,,low and behold like no oil!!!well 3/4 of a quart,,rinsed out and filled with 15-40,,reassembled and lo and behold it functioned great,,that led me to go thru all the things I hadn't checked,now all it fine on our hill,,wood wise and come spring gardening should be so much easier,,,all I cant quite get right is the brakes,,to much adjusting and they lock on too little and they dont grab,no happy inbetween may no surface left??thanks for trying to help ,,sometimes you just get down to desperation..
