This is the Problem, I have not seen it, Guy Selling Swears it's a JD Model25...I have never heard of a 25, Not found on JDparts or anywhere I know to look...
Old 'Mounted' type mower. He says it works well,
I'm Tryin to get info befor driving 4hrs. to look at it.
He may actually be talking about a flail mower. Looking through my old Deere service publications catalogs that include pretty much everything ever made by Deere, I only see the 25/25A flail. Sometimes flail and sickle mowers get grouped together.

That was my thought too. Hoping he can scratch up some pics to help identify the mower. On jdparts, there also is a 25/25A 3 ph sprayer, but figured that was not a possibility for sure.

Saw that sprayer. In fact, my books show JD used the number 25 for at least 18 different products. Runs the range from a combine and an excavator, to the string trimmer I have used for 20 years.
The Picture in his Ad is a Sickle Mower, But not enough to tell what model.
He says it's in good condition... Price is right, But 4hrs one way... If he's that wrong about the model, what else is he 'wrong' about
Rear Draw bar mount, 6ft bar, Nice Guy on the phone... I need a 'new' mower, Curious to know what this thing really is, Tryin to justify 3$ fuel to go look at what could be everything he says it is.. or a Pile of junk, Which is what I usually find on These Craiglist ads.
I haven't had the "junk" experience with CL ads. Just the opposite.
Has the "nice guy" told you what tractor he put this mower on, or not?
From the pic, looks to have a new (or painted) bar holding rod, and can see green paint. Indication it hasn't been parked outside.
Figure if the price is right (can't go too wrong for $75), then you can move it and we all can learn from your experience. Do you know anyone in the area that can go look at it for you?
Can't stand it!! I'm gonna go look at it Tomorrow. So...if I drive my full size Pickup it's gonna be a POS. If I drive my Bride's little Datsun, The mower is gonna be a Gem But to big to fit in the Pickup....
