I could really use a snow blade and also a box blade for back grading gravel and dirt this summer.
We have 4 sections of pvc pipe 24 inch diameter 4 to 5 feet long that will eventually get thrown out sitting in the get rid of pile. It's probably abut 3/4" wall thickness and pretty heavy stuff.
I tried searching for pvc plow but mostly turning up using it over edge of a regular blade.
Has anybody ever made the blade itself out of pvc? It won't cost me anything and I'm sure I can fab up some angle iron brackets or whatever I need to attach it. I'm just curious if it will hold up or will crack and break when pushed hard or hit driveway cracks or rocks if used for back of a box blade?

If that doesn't work I can cut some steel 55 gal drums to use but those have ribs and kinda thin steel so I'm leaning towards the pvc.

If it don't work you are not out much!!!---I never tried it, fear of breaking in the sub-cold.--If used on smaller tractor, it might just work!! thanks; sonny580

I built one for a 2wd 250cc Honda ATV quite a few years ago and it held up fairly well. I did reinforce the cutting edge with a piece of flat stock steel. I only pushed snow with itso im not sure if it would hold up the the dirt but it really surprised me. I cant even remember what became of it, Im guessing I prob gave it away. Its worth a shot.
