I've had my 2320 for about a year and a half and feel that the hydrostatic drive speeds are just a little off. Especially on inclines. By that I mean, if I had the choice, I'd switch out the gearing ratio on both speeds - or better yet, add a third speed in between. I understand the new B-series Kubotas have three ratios.

My question is - to those that have used both machines - does the 2305 transmission match the engine better than the 2320? Or are they the same?

I can't seem to find anything in the forum history that describes people's experiences.

I have run a 2320 and 2520 on the dealer lot. Own a 2305. I can't seem to find the manuals online right now, but when I was doing research, it almost looked to me like the transmission or at least gearing between the 2320 and the 2305 was the same. But the rear tire circumference on the 2320 is much larger than that on the 2305. So the 2320 is quite a bit faster/higher geared than the 2305. I think my top speed in high is about 8mph, and yours is about 15?

I use high for mowing, most of the time. Low for loader stuff.

Thanks, Diz. What I find frustrating is the high speed. If there's even a slight incline (empty loader, no 3-pt attachment), the tractor struggles with high and emits a pretty loud straining whine. Once level, it cooks along for trips down the road.

When I was doing my research, I read quite a few complaints here from people who felt the high on the 2320/2520 was too high. I don't think you're alone.

My property is so small 8mph is fast enough for me. :)

When I was looking at both units, I decided to go with the
2305 because mowing was my main task for tractor. The dealer
told me the 2305 is geared just right for mowing because you
can mow in both high and low. :)

I recently sold my 2210 (essentially the "old" 2305) and bought a 2320. From experience, when mowing on hills or inclines, the 2320 does not do as well in high as the 2210 did. When mowing hills, I just switch to low. IMHO it isn't an issue. I just plan for the switch and head up the hill. I do more with my 2320 than just mow. Hope this helps.

Yes, the 2320 is 'weak' in hi gear. I suspect it's because of the larger tires as opposed to the 2305. Both possibly run the same gear ratios. It's not till you get to the 2720 that you can pull in high gear but it's got just about the hp as the 3320.

When I had my 2320 it wasn't a problem, I just switched to low and it did everything I needed.
Two speeds seems enough for me with the hydro tranny. The 2720 seems pretty close to my old 2320 although I see some physical differences in the tranny and the levers are beafier.
All the Deere's are sweet machines and the 2 series is right up there with the best. You could give me a 'bota with 100 speeds and I'd still take a Deere. Sorry, no disrespect, I'm sure they are great tractors.
