I have a 2305 on my property as a "demo." I like it, but while driving through my horse pasture it beat the heck out of me. It also seemed a little prone to tipping when going through ruts, etc. I am wondering if the rough ride is simply a function of the size of the tractor, or if it is specific to this model.

I went through the same thing when I first moved to the country. I mow about 2acres that used to be pasture. I started out with a GT 235 ( garden tractor ) because of the small tires and relativley light wieght I was bounced all over the place. The following year I traded it in on a 4010 ( I believe the 2305 is it's replacement all thought the 4010 is a little bigger in size) I noticed a great difference in the ride but still was bouncy. This year I traded in the 4010 for the 2520. What a differance!! The larger tiers both in height and width also the extra 400-500lbs really made a difference.I am quite satisfied with the ride now. Can only imagine how nice a 3320 would be???Maybe next year!lol. 2520 is about 1900lbs without the deck on. You may want to consider something a little bigger or end up spending way to much$$$$ to get ware you need to be like I did!!!!

Just MHO!

Good Luck!!

Thanks, I have about 2 acres of new lawn around my house and about 5 acres of pasture. I need the tractor to mow and for the many projects I have planned for our newly built house. I should also add that the 2305 I tested doesn't have the FEL or mower attached so it is lighter than it will be if I buy one.

Thanks for this info. Approx. how much for the 2520? Also, does the additional height make it seem less stable than the smaller tractors you have had?

I paid about $ 24, 000 Canadian for the 2520 with 61" 200 cx loader, 62" on ramp mmm, ballast box. You will probaly pay a lot less in the U.S. I believe around $ 18,000 for the same package. I don't have any steep hills to cut on but I can say the added weight and the wider spaced tires makes for a ver stable platform. The other reason I went to the 2520 is the fact it can take the 46 BH. Which I have read on the forum is very capable and perfect for what I need around here. It goes for about $8.000. I can mow my 2acres in about 3hrs now in stead of all day with the gt235. The 2520 also has a higher lift capacity with the 3pth to get those rear implements high off the ground and out of the way.

Good luck!
