2305 & X700 Series Seat

Does anyone know if you can adapt the delux X700 seat to fit on the 2305? If so does anyone have a picture of the 2305 with the seat on it? I would like to see it and show it to my dealer. I like the 2305 but want a better seat.

It can and has been done. Not a cheap swap, but cheaper than the air-ride seat on the 3x20 series and above.

Seems to me I saw a pic somewhere of the swapped seat. I believe it was a 2210, which of course is similar to the 2305, with the seat that should come as standard equipment. If I find the pic, I'll let you know.

I have the deluxe seat on my X748SE and it is really great. It is made by Michigan seat company(says right on it). You can get one from them too but probably in black. I actually wish mine was black since it does not show the dirt as easy.

I never understood why people want to spend $500.00 on another seat when the 2305 seat is fine. Anyway I do recall someone making the switch but that was some time ago.

It's usually from the X crowd where they get spoiled after some seat time and when they move up they notice the difference. As you know, the seats on the 2305 are fine and the ride is certainly acceptable, but there is always someone ready to put a lazy-boy chair on theirs!

I have IBS and I am happy to pay for the suspension seat. The regular seats just jar my guts too much.

I added the X series suspension and seat to my 2210 and it is indeed a very nice improvement. My yard is rough and the seat made a big difference in comfort. The 2210/2305 tires are not all that big and taking ruts at 90 degrees and be quite a ride.

My wife can identify with that.
She was in the hospital Feb and Oct last year with 2 bad attacks of it. The Feb one was extremely bad and the one in Oct wasn't exactly a pick nick either.

My 2210s seat was terrible. The 700 series seat made it ride like a caddy!

I have a 2210 rough rider and some kind of suspended seat should come STANDARD (do you hear me JD?). Trouble is my long legs might not like a higher seat position.

now he has a 3320 , maybe he still has the seat.
quite a few people have done it. but its expensive.

I just was thinking the money would be better spent on some attachment. If you guys are happy with the upgrade then that's great. Any one have a picture of the seat. I do not even know the difference? Is it air ride?

It is not air ride. It is a spring suspension seat made by Michigan seat. It is their top of the line spring seat. It makes a world of difference though if you have a reason for it like I do with IBS. A bad back would be another reason. It is NOT worth it for everyone. If you think your current seat is fine, you don't need one.

It came with arm rests too but I removed them because it was harder to get on and off with them.

The knob on the left is lumbar adjust. The dial at the center front is where you enter the operators weight.

its a SE seat. thay can buy the regular 748 suspension seat
much cheeper. even though its expensive too. but yours is the best money
can buy....

And so when is JD going to do something about this? I've seen seat complaints by the 100's on this site, isn't JD listening??? Any votes to make the guy who designed those cheap rubber bumpers under this seat to drive it for a couple hours? Does anyone at JD actually operate their product before they approve it for production??? Or did some yahoo drive the prototype 2210 around the factory on a smooth concrete floor and say "ship it!"?
My buttocks are thankful I opted for the HDAP soft side tires so I can let the air out and float the tractor.... butt (sic) it is a pain in the butt to adjust the air every time I want to use the FEL. Anyone know what Cub has under their seats? or Kubota? Any sub-CUTs out there with real springs under the seat?

Northern Tool sells the same Michigan seat for quite a bit less than JD. Unless there is some other mounting hardware that comes with the JD model that you need.

all the 2xxx series seats are the absolute worst. They are raised in the back so you always feel like you are falling forward. Unless your yard is perfect they will beat you to death. I had a 2520 with the same problem. Bought the 728SE seat and put it on. Go with the Northtool one as it is much cheaper. I didn't use any of the mounting hardware that comes with the deer seat. I took the old mounting bracket off the crap seat and bolted it straight to the mount on the 2520. I lost the forward back adjustment but I am the only one on my tractor so no great loss. My seat ended up being the same height as the old seat and it was tilted back slightly to take the pressure off the back and get it to your hips. After the mod the tractor was fantastic. Granted it only fit me but i wrote the check so I was fine with it. I just traded the tractor in on a 3720. I offered the dealer the old seat but after sitting on mine with the mod he insisted that I leave it on. If you need more detail let me know and I can walk you thru the install.
